VY (full bridge)

VY: Foil strain gauge with 4 measuring grids connected to a solid bridge.

The VY strain gauge consists of four measuring grids that are connected in a full bridge. These strain gauges are often used for measurements on torsion bars or to measure shear stresses.

Two different geometries of measuring grids are available:

• VY1 - 0°/90° - T full bridge, available with temperature compensation for steel or to customer requirements, with nominal (rated) resistance 120 ohms
• VY4 strain gauge for measuring shear or torsional stress, available with temperature compensation for steel, aluminium or according to customer requirements (7 options for different materials - see strain gauge catalogue), with nominal (rated) resistance 120 or 350 ohms

The measuring grid is made of constantan. The material of the measuring grid carrier is polyimide.
