U3 - Robust tension/pressure transducer up to 100kN

The rotationally symmetrical U3 series force transducer meets the highest requirements for stability under lateral loads with maximum suppression of the effect of these forces on measurement and transducer lifetime.

One of the problems that arises when measuring the force is the existence of lateral forces, that is, forces acting at a different angle form parasitic loads. These lateral forces can arise from the design of the machine but also, for example, from the self-weight of the transducer. In some cases, the lateral forces can be so significant that they can damage or even destroy the force transducer, causing delays in production. Lateral forces can have a negative impact on production efficiency.

For this reason, the industry has demanded a U3 force transducer that is robust, rotationally symmetrical and insensitive to transverse forces that it can compensate for up to 100 % of the transducer's nominal range without losing its measurement capability or even mechanically damaging the transducer.

These requirements for ensuring measurement stability under parasitic loads are now met by the rotationally symmetrical tensile and compressive force transducer U3. The transducer is designed for use in demanding industrial applications, for example in the pressing process. The tools can be mounted, after adjustment to the sensor flange, directly on the sensor.
