TB2
TB2: Tensometric torque transducer with high accuracy class.
The TB2 torque transducer was developed as a reference transducer for calibration purposes, which, thanks to its miniature size, can be used as a portable normal, for example. It is offered in nominal ranges from 100Nm to 10kNm.
TheTB2 torque transducer achieves a very high accuracy class. In conjunction with the DKD calibration certificate, it meets the requirements of the highest class 0.05 according to DIN 51309 or EA 10-14. The standard range in which the stated accuracy applies is from 40% to 100% of the nominal measuring range. TB2 goes beyond this and provides the specified highest accuracy from 10% to 100% of the nominal sensor range.
The sensor is also notable for its very low sensitivity to parasitic effects such as bending moments and transverse forces. Due to the closed construction of the measuring element, it is resistant to environmental influences such as temperature fluctuations or humidity. The patented, compact measuring element is designed as a short tube with strain gauges applied to the inner wall of the tube measuring the shear strain induced by the measured moment.
Although the sensor was originally developed for use in industrial environments, its superior performance makes it suitable for use in metrology to calibrate torque transducers in laboratory conditions and field tests.
As well as for calibration purposes, the TB2 is very suitable for measuring torque force anywhere in production or monitoring its quality. For use in extremely harsh environments, its enclosed design is advantageous, which in the option guarantees IP67 protection according to EN 60529.
