T40B - torque transducer up to 10kNm

t40b

Universal sensor for test conditions

Robust and precise. The T40B universal torque transducer is ideal for the design of test machines in research, development but also for output testing (EOL) in production.

The T40B excels in accuracy, reproducibility and robustness and is particularly suitable for static and dynamic force torque measurements. The sensor is available in an accuracy class up to 0.05%, but in terms of linearity including hysteresis the maximum error is 0.01%/0.02%/0.03%. Combined with the integrated magnetic speed sensing system, it allows measurement of the instantaneous power on the shaft of the drive under test. The contactless rotor power supply and digital signal transmission from the rotor ensure trouble-free and maintenance-free operation. The TIM-EC modules for EtherCAT and TIM-PN for Profinet interfaces provide maximum performance and high flexibility in integrating torque force and rotational speed signals to drive state-of-the-art test systems.

The T40B sensor measures static and dynamic torque forces on stationary or rotating shafts. Measuring assemblies using this transducer can be compact in size due to the compact dimensions of the transducer itself. This makes the sensor suitable for a wide range of applications.

The sensor is reliably protected against electromagnetic interference. It has been tested according to harmonised European standards and also complies with American and Canadian standards.

The sensor consists of two separate parts: the rotor and the stator. The rotor contains the mechanical measuring element and the signal sensing and transmission system.

Strain gauges are applied to the measuring element (inner walls of the short pipe fitted with connecting flanges). The electronics for processing the measured signal are located inside one flange of the rotor. The coils for supplying the electronics and transmitting the signal are located on the circuit of this flange.

The signals are transmitted and received by a ring-shaped stator antenna mounted on a stator containing the rotor power electronics and the circuits for receiving and processing the torque and speed signals. The antenna ring shall be mounted concentrically around the telemetry coil flange during operation.

Connectors for torque and speed output, power supply and digital output are located on the stator of the encoder.
