newLight FS62: Optical strain gauge based mechanical strain gauges - FBG Bragg gratings.

The newlight FS62 sensors are designed in many versions for the easiest possible use. There is a classic strain gauge design for bonding to the sample surface, spot weldable strain gauges or a design for direct pouring into concrete mixtures. They work on the FBG principle.

Their small size and light weight make them the ideal choice for hard-to-reach places.

FS62PSS - Surface Voltage Sensor / Strain Gauge

• Fully dielectric sensor for bonding to flat or curved surfaces
• Measuring range ± 20 000 µm/m
• Temperature resistance from -40°C [-40°F] to 100°C [212°F]
• Temperature compensation using the FS63LTS sensor
• For perfect results, use Z70, X60 or X280 adhesives, protect with ABM75 or AK22 cover for long life

FS62CSS - Composite Voltage Sensor / Strain Gauge

• Adhesive sensor for all types of surfaces including inhomogeneous materials such as concrete or composite
• High measuring ranges ± 5000 µm/m and excellent fatigue resistance
• With aramid cables without any metal components or armoured cables for harsher environments
• Temperature compensation using the FS63CTS temperature sensor
• For perfect results, use X120 adhesives. Protect with ABM75 or AK22 for long life

FS62WSS - weldable voltage sensor / strain gauge

• Can be easily spot welded to metal structures for accurate measurements immediately after installation
• Available with braided cables, resistant to higher temperatures (-40°C [-40°F] to 100°C [212°F]) and strain levels (±10,000 µm/m) for laboratory applications
• Available with 3 mm diameter aramid or armour reinforced cables for outdoor use
• With extended stress measurement ranges to meet the requirements of the most advanced steels up to ± 5,000 µm/m
• Temperature compensation using the FS63WTS temperature sensor
• HBM recommends the use of VBS spot welders or similar equipment. Protect with ABM75 or AK22 for long life

FS62RSS - Built-in voltage sensor / strain gauge

• Robust strain gauges designed to be embedded in concrete or screwed onto flat surfaces.
• Built-in version for concrete structures, with a measuring range of ± 2500 µm/m
• Surface mount version for all types of drillable materials with a measuring range of ± 5,000 µm/m
• Temperature compensation using the FS63RTS temperature sensor
