LB11 / TB21

LB11 & TB21: Strain gauges for measuring in bolts

Bolts are a common structural element used to mechanically connect various components. The LB11 and TB21 series of wire-ready cylindrical strain gauges have been specifically designed to measure tension, force and vibration in bolts and other axial structural components.

These strain gauges are equipped with copper conductors and can be used directly in pre-drilled screw elements. This requires 2mm drilling into the structure. Both models, LB11 and TB21, are prepared as a cylindrical strain gauge that can be used in a temperature range of -200°C to +140°C.

  • LB11 has one linear measuring grid in the direction of deformation. It is suitable for quarter bridge applications and has a resistance of 120Ω.
  • TB21 has two 0°/90° measuring grids. It is designed as a half-bridge, which allows particularly good temperature compensation even under fluctuating temperature conditions. The resistance of the strain gauge is 1000Ω (+/-1%).

The adhesive suitable for the application of these strain gauges is of the type EP70.
