KD/STZ: Reference force transducers for testing machine verification

The KD and STZ force transducers have been specifically designed for the verification of material testing machines in accordance with ISO 7500-1. While the KD force transducer is suitable for compressive forces, the STZ measures tensile forces.

Both sensors can be used to reference the test machine's measurement system and therefore meet the requirements of ISO376, Class 0.5 in the measurement range between 20% and 100% of their capacitance.

Both special force transducers are also used to test machine frames under load. With four galvanically isolated strain gauge full bridges offset 90° around the circumference of the test fixture, the sensors can determine whether the force-applied parts of the test machine and the machine frame guarantee perfect axial tension of the test fixture. To achieve this, the force transducer in the machine is rotated several times.
