K800: Calibration unit for 8-channel measuring amplifiers with strain gauge quarter bridge

The K800 strain gauge quarter bridge calibration unit can calibrate eight channels simultaneously. The device is particularly useful for multi-channel measurement amplifiers such as HBM's MGCplus, which need to be calibrated regularly to ensure accuracy.
Multi-channel amplifiers are used for complex measurement applications requiring a higher number of channels, for example in applications ranging from vehicle road tests to experimental voltage analysis using single-channel strain gauges in the aerospace industry.

The K800 comes with five calibration steps for amplifier imbalance between ±8 mV/V. The steps are individually balanced for each of the eight channels providing a precise network of resistors for high accuracy. The unit is equipped with front panel LEDs to allow the status of the device to be displayed at any time.
The calibration unit is an intuitive and easy-to-use device that provides faster calibration than sequential calibration of measurement channels. Four versions of the device are available - 120 ohms, 350 ohms, 700 ohms and 1000 ohms - to meet the needs of the most popular nominal strain gauges.
The K800 can be controlled either by a computer connected via a USB port or via a digital input. Adjustments to the calibration steps and data acquisition can be made either manually or via a computer with a control program. Calibration checks can be performed quickly and easily.
The advantage of using a USB port is that it reduces cable whirring as there is no need for a power supply. When using a digital control input, a standard power supply is required. The unit is designed with stackable metal housings that allow a number of different calibration units to be placed on top of each other to save space. Each K800 is supplied with a DKD (German Calibration Service) certificate to ensure traceability of measurements to national standards.
Cables are supplied with the K800 that allow either 3- or 4-wire circuits to connect the device directly to the HB8 AP814 and AP815 quarter-bridge amplifiers. They are used in conjunction with the ML801 basic measurement module.
