AED - Digital electronics
AED is a strain gauge amplifier with digital communication.
AED helps to implement a production control system easily and conveniently.
This electronics converts the signals supplied by the analogue load cells into digital data. The AED offers you the benefits of digital accuracy in conjunction with your existing system, saving you the cost of modifying it.
This solution is direct, efficient and simple to operate. Simply plug it in and all settings can be made directly via your computer.
The measurement chain consists of three components:
- Standalone amplifier AD103C (inserted into the AEDxxxxxxx package)
- AEDxxxxxxx base package with interface according to your requirements (provides EMC protection, etc.)
- Software Panel32
Digital amplifier AD103C for analogue sensors
The AD103C digital amplifier enables easy and convenient process control and monitoring. The AD103C digitises signals from analogue load cells (weighing sensors/tensiometers) without the need to make new investments in your existing system.
The AD103C is a DC amplifier for resistive transducers (weighing transducers/tensometers). It is equally suitable for dynamic and static applications such as checkweighers, multi-station combination scales, sorting machines, dynamic scales and filling equipment. The RS-232 interface provides direct connection to a computer.

Basic AED equipment
AED base devices are supplied with various interfaces of your choice (available for RS-232, RS-485, CANopen, DeviceNet and Profibus DP V1 interfaces) providing the correct connection to the AD103C amplifier board. The AD103C electronics converts your analogue load cells to digital.
The AD103C amplifier board can be used in all basic devices. Different types of devices differ in their interfaces and in the external supply voltage. Select the AEDxxxxx base package that suits your interface and application.

Ethernet gateway
An Ethernet gateway is available as an option for the AED 9401A, AED 9501A and FIT base devices to facilitate integration into control systems. Types are available for Ethernet (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DHCP, Modbus-TCP) or CC-Link.
